Meet at the main Newlands Forest parking area. Use this Google Maps link for the exact pin. Look for other DMC members gathered near the Fire Truck Coffee van. In the late afternoon, this truck could be gone, still meet at this address.
What to expect
A relaxed forest loop with a small group of founders, mostly shaded paths, gentle inclines, and plenty of space for real conversations about life and business away from the city noise. If you are a dog owner, now is the perfect time to bring them along.
Route Overview
Start at the Newlands Forest parking, walk through the gate and follow the lower forest trail. Take a simple loop along well marked paths, then circle back to finish where you started at the parking area. It can be bit confusing for first timers, here is more information on the exact route.
Time & pace
Around 1.5 to 2 hours of walking at a conversational pace, roughly 4 to 5 km. Mostly gentle gradients with a few short, steeper sections, suitable for most fitness levels.
DMC Guidelines
Wear comfortable walking or trail shoes and bring a small bottle of water and a light layer. Respect different backgrounds and viewpoints, and keep personal stories shared on the trail within the group.
